Information about layoffs, unemployment insurance, and hiring resources.

  • Please share with your employees that unemployment insurance must be filed online using a computer, tablet or smartphone. Online filing information can be found at www.Unemployment.IN.gov. Individuals should review the FAQs, Claimant Handbook and/or the online video tutorials on that page. To assist with preventing long wait times at the Unemployment Insurance Call Center individuals with questions or requiring additional assistance have been asked to only call or email with questions on the day corresponding with the first letter of their last name as listed here.

  • WorkOne: Indiana’s statewide network for job seekers has Bloomington and South Central Indiana offices with experienced staff to help job seekers and employers. All WorkOne services are free of charge to job seekers and employers. Eligible individuals may also receive training assistance. Support for job seekers also includes the Indiana Career Ready website.

  • Unemployment for owners: Unfortunately, there isn't a clear answer to these questions for business owners. If the business owner can show they have reduced hours, pay and other impact from COVID-19, it is likely they would be eligible just like any other disaffected employees. We recommend that you apply for unemployment insurance, even though it's currently unclear whether the state will end up granting it to you.
